Matters arising not already on the agenda
Re-ordering St Anne's
Retreat in Daily Life
The previous retreat 18 months ago had been very successful. This will be offered again 13th-19th September. Daily meeting with prayer companions will be at St Anne's or the Baptist Church.
Bishop's Certificate
This 30 week course will will be offered this autumn. It will explore worship, scripture and history and seek to relate Christian faith to life. Preliminary meeting will be held soon.
Wribbenhall and Bewdley in 2010
Position will be clarified in the next Network. Hazel is due to retire in 2010 after which Wribbenhall will share the same parish priest as Bewdley, Ribbesford and Button Oak. This will necessitate a careful review to adjust parish life in the churches to the reality of having a single parish priest.
Authorised Lay Ministry Scheme
Information was shared about the new Authorised Lay Ministry programme to be offered in the Diocese. The ALM training will consist of a 1 year course with common and specialist modules (Pastoral Assistant, Evangelist, Worship Leader, Children and Youth Worker, Administrator). This will not invalidate the contributions already being made in worship, preaching etc. There will for example be a need in future for more people to lead funerals.
Co-option onto PCC
Keith will liaise further with Brian Wood to clarify his position. It was proposed that Paul Warnett be co-opted onto the PCC to assist work with Wribbenhall. He has experience at St Anne's, good links with Wribbenhall and appropriate management experience. Approved.
Charitable Status of PCC
Michael explained that we are now a charity and need to register as such by September 2009. He has started the process of registration online. Each member of the PCC has to be registered as a trustee.
