PCC Meeting - March 2009

Highlights from the PCC meeting held on 19th March 2009

Matters arising not already on the agenda

  1. Signage for St Anne's : Nothing further to report.
  2. Quinquennial Report : Re-launched property group are working on items flagged up at St Andrew's.
  3. Lent : Progressing well!
  4. Sound system : Michael reported delivery of 2 new sets of radios mikes (below budget). Joe agreed to install them.

Re-ordering St Anne's

  1. Day out to London.
46 places taken at present: 7 spaces remain. Keith stressed that there was no hidden agenda. PCC need to spread the word that any changes will need the support of the congregation: full involvement is sought and needed.
  2. Parish Weekend.
Organised for weekend of 25-27th September at Pioneer Centre, Cleobury Mortimer. Informal gathering on Friday evening. Workshops Saturday morning, afternoon free. Evening entertainment. Sunday morning worship & workshop, dispersal after lunch. Planning group to consider how financial support might be offered to ensure inclusivity. Discussion ensued on what services should be held in the parish on the Sunday. The importance of the Parish weekend to all was noted but it was felt that there should be some form of morning worship at St Anne's & St Leonard's for those who will not go on the weekend & for the occasional visitor. The problem of finding leaders for up to 3 services when most would be committed to the weekend was noted. Swapping the week for the fortnightly service at St Andrew's would help. Keith will explore who might be available to lead a service.

Parish Year Book
Peter distributed draft copies for checking: corrections to be notified within 1 week. Thanks given to Peter for compiling it.
