Sounds great, doesn't it! Visions of a huddle of men trudging nervously through the undergrowth for hours on end with only the moon and a LED headlight to guide them; finally to see the sun rising to greet them the next day.
In reality six men, dressed warmly and guided by torches of floodlight intensity, set off from Rob's house to trek along well lit roads into the dark dark trail of Habberley Valley.
With much puffing and panting they climbed endless steps to reach the Trimpley road and the way to Wassell Woods. On the top of the Iron Age fort, they were met with a dazzling display of lights from as far away as Droitwich.
After circling through the tree covered hill they strolled the last of the three mile walk along Trimpley Lane for tea and coffee at Rob's house.
Everyone agreed that it was a most exhilarating and eco-friendly walk ever. They met manhole cover thieves, were frightened by owls and noisy pheasants and created a new MUD record - that of losing two walkers BEFORE starting the walk!
